DIY Melted Crayon Pumpkin Tutorial

If you are like me fall brings out the craft vibes in your home. What can I make from those leaves on the ground? What can we do with our pumpkins this year? Let's add some flair to that porch gourd display.

This year we decided to try out MELTED CRAYON PUMPKINS. This would be a great fall craft to do with your family or friends. It’s easy, fun to make, and inexpensive. I am already saving crayons for next year to have a ladies night with color specific pumpkins.

I will definitely be making a bunch of these to put on my porch.

Materials:

  • pumpkin (can be real or from a craft store)
  • craft paper or newspaper for table surface
  • crayons
  • tacky glue or hot glue *
    • if using hot glue be sure to assist younger children
  • craft knife (to help start the paper peel or to cut crayons)
  • hair dryer

Directions:

Step 1

Lay the craft paper in your working area to avoid mess, then start the project by peeling the crayons with your craft knife, then break them in half. (for larger pumpkins you do not need to break crayons)

Step 2

Glue around each crayon piece on top of the pumpkin, with glue. Let them dry completely.

Step 3

Once done, set the hair dryer on high heat setting, then start heating each crayon until they’re completely melted and the colors are dripping down the pumpkin.

My youngest son loved trying out this new craft. This was something he was able to do from beginning to end with little to no help from me or his older siblings.
