Genealogy Event - Find Your Ancestors

Genealogists, novice and advanced, are invited to the Brighton District Library, located at 100 Library Drive, Friday, October 24 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm for an exclusive after-hours genealogy event. The library will be closed to the public that evening and for those registered; access will be given to computers and CD burners.  Additionally, there will be two genealogy presentations, one about finding ancestors on the internet and the other about cemetery records. Staff will be available to help throughout the evening and full evening attendance is not mandatory to take part in the event. Space is limited. Please register by calling.  810-229-6571 x227.

Beginning at 6:30pm, speaker Karen Krugman will be present Chasing your Elusive Ancestor on the Internet. At 8:30pm, Krugman will talk about Cemetery Records. Krugman has been researching since 1990, and professionally since 1998. She enjoys the challenge of Lineage Society research. Since 2002 she has been speaking to genealogy groups in the metro Detroit area as well as other areas of Michigan & Ohio. Her talks are given with a humorous spin that is unique to her. She is once again the president of the Ford Genealogy Club after taking a hiatus from the position she held for eleven years. She has been the research chair for the Detroit Society for Genealogical research for 10 years, and was the Registrar of the Michigan UDC chapter. She is also a member of the Oakland County Genealogy Society and a volunteer at the Library of Michigan. She has written five books based on her family history research and was co-author of The Ford Family Cemetery book, which includes photos and other information on the cemetery where auto pioneer Henry Ford is buried. Currently Karen resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
